THE MEXICAN STOCK MARKET FALLS 1.02% AND BREAKS THE FIVE-YEAR STREAK OF JORNADAZ OF INCREASES

 

After 5 years the Mexican stock market falls
















Mexico City, March 23 .The Mexican Stock Exchange BMV fell 1.02% this Wednesday in its main indicator, to settle at 55,154.68 points, which broke a streak of five sessions on the rise, the last three with all-time highs.

The Index of Prices and Quotations IPC, the main indicator of the BMV, "closed with a loss, being the first setback after advancing for five consecutive sessions with an accumulated 5.52% and with a new historical maximum reached in the session of Tuesday, Banco Base analyst Jesús Anacarsis López explained to Efe.

The new historical maximum of the Mexican Stock Exchange registered on Tuesday was 55,722.48 points.

He pointed out that within the IPC only six issuers, of the 35 main ones, won", among them the Mexican Stock Exchange with 1.35%, Genoma Lab with 1.2%, Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro with 0.59%, Orbia with 0.47%, Coca Cola (NYSE:KO) Femsa with 0.33% and Telesites with 0.04%.

While the biggest losses were concentrated in issuers such as Gruma OTC: GPAGF with -4.84%, Banco Regional with -4.32% and Liverpool with -3.18%.
With the advance of this day, the IPC accumulates a performance so far this year of 3.56%.
On the day, the Mexican peso appreciated 0.44% against the dollar, trading at 20.18 units per greenback in the interbank market.




















The IPC closed at 55,154.68 units with a loss of 567.8 points and a negative variation of 1.02% compared to the previous session.
The volume traded on the market reached 207.1 million titles for an amount of 22,902 million pesos about 1,134.8 million dollars.
Of the 727 firms that listed on the day, 249 ended with their prices rising, 448 had losses and 30 closed unchanged.

The titles with the greatest upward variation were from the airline Aeroméxico AEROMEX with 18.09%; the oil company Vista Oil & Gas VISTA A with 11.65%, and the retailer of household products Grupo Famsa with 8.55%.

In contrast, the securities with the greatest downward variation were from the company Value Grupo Financiero(VALUEGF O with -4.78%; the producer and marketer of food Gruma (GRUMA B), with -4.84%, and the producer of non-alcoholic beverages Organization Cultiba (CULTIBA B) with -4.76%.

On the day the four sectors lost, starting with materials (-1.72%), followed by financials (-1.66%), frequent consumption (-1.53%) and industrials (-1 .29%).
